Videos come in many qualities, so you should not be surprised if the image is too bright, too dark or its colors are all wrong. If you want to improve a video's quality, Video Pilot will make this task easy. It lets you correct a video's color and brightness balance, remove color casts and more. Using the software does not require special skills or knowledge and it will not take long to enhance the quality of your videos.

Video Pilot's setup kit is almost 5 MB large, which does not take long to download with a modern day Internet connection. You can install the software on any Windows platform, from Win 98 to Win 7. The low system requirements allow you to run the program without any problems, even if your hardware is out of date.

You can load different types of videos and images, including AVI, MPEG, JPG, BMP and more. Once loaded, the software will display them on separate windows, within its interface. It is possible to load multiple files at the same time, because you may need a color sample from a different video or image. Video Pilot's entire collection of adjustment options can be found in the lower region of the main window. The options are not many, but they are quite effective and it will not take long to get used to them.

Before making any adjustments, you must use a series of selection tools, to select a color sample. If you want to add a certain color, you can use one of these tools to select it from a picture. You can save that color, in the lower region of the window, by clicking a button, located in the same area. Once the color is saved, you need to perform a similar process on your window, but in reverse.

When a video is loaded, it will show up with its own playback options and you will not be able to select any areas on that video. You may click a button, next to the playback controls, to open the current frame on a separate window. The selection can be made on this new window, where you need to target the color that needs adjusting. If a color, from another picture, is saved, you can use it on your video by clicking a single button. The adjustment will take effect immediately and you may save the corrected video, using various output settings. It may take a few minutes to figure out how the controls work, but you can find a few examples, recorded as macros.

Pros

You can make various color or brightness adjustments on your videos. The software's functions are not difficult. It comes with a few examples, which make it easier to adjust to its controls. Video Pilot supports various video formats. Even if you do not see a certain extension, on the Open dialog, you can select the "All files" option and load your video.

Cons

Unless you run the program in full screen mode, on a large monitor, the interface may be somewhat uncomfortable. If you are not satisfied with the quality of your videos, Video Pilot will help you improve them. It enables you to perform advanced tasks, while using basic and easy to understand functions.
